Delivery Information

Our plants are produced using a mix of a seasonal seed sowing plan and a system of periodic cuttings from our organic stock plants. All plants are kept in strictly organic conditions and will grow as nature intended. Any interventions to protect them from pests are by physical protection e.g. netting or using certified organic remedies. We are strictly controlled by the requirements of the Soil Association, who undertake annual certification of our practices.

All of our plants are produced from either seeds or cuttings at our nursery in Yealmpton, Devon. We also sell organic seed potatoes, organic seeds and various organic garden sundries.

We monitor the volume of plants we need for our online orders and sales at plant fairs, markets, retail outlets and our own on-site shop. Plants for our online orders are stored separately to try and ensure that we meet all orders at the requested time.

Our plants are packaged the day prior to, or on day of dispatch, and are only dispatched on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays; this is to avoid deliveries being left undelivered over a weekend. We have recently introduced a system of limiting the number of packages we send out each day, this is to promote the best service we can for our valued customers.

Our plants are packed into paper bags either as plugs or in individual plants and carefully layered in straw within a cardboard box.

We ask our customers when ordering to let us have any special instructions about their delivery. This could be a place to leave the plants or instructions where a location is difficult to find.

We understand that sometimes things can change and if you wish to cancel your order, we require at least 5 days notice before your delivery week to do this. This ensures plants are not packaged unnecessarily and wasted, and so at busy times the delivery slot could be used for another fellow grower.

Through our chosen courier DHL we can deliver to every listed post code area in the United Kingdom. However, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in contact with us. Most deliveries are scheduled to be next day after collection, although certain postcodes are scheduled to take 48 hours.

We make a standard charge of £7.50 for delivery to most postcodes, although some, mainly in parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland, will cost more. An order of organic seeds ONLY will be sent via Royal Mail and the delivery charge is £3.50.

DHL couriers will try and make contact on arrival and should have let you know, by SMS/Text or email, the day of delivery. If they cannot make contact on arrival we ask them to leave your parcel in a safe place. This avoids your package being returned to the depot for your collection, which will result in the plants being in the box too long. We cannot accept liability for the state of the plants in those circumstances.

If there is an issue with your delivery that results in the plants arriving in a less than ideal condition we are always there to help and please contact us at your earliest convenience.

As well as our online shop we have a regular stall at Totnes market every Friday and Saturday from late February to early/mid-September. We also take stalls at various plant Fairs/Gardening Shows.

We are passionate about organic, environmental and ethical principles, in which we follow throughout our business. We are a small dedicated team, who all have a passion for vegetable growing and are more than happy to give advice, helping you grow your own.
